This report considers amendments made to the Summary Offences Act 1988 and Crimes Act 1900 as part of the NSW Ombudsman's role to monitor the implementation of those powers.

Increased visibility in public areas, social disadvantage, and the use of broad police powers like ‘move on’ directions contribute to more frequent interactions between Aboriginal people and police.
