This article outlines findings of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission’s report on police bail compliance checks in NSW. It discusses issues with the NSW Police Force's practice of relying on the legal doctrine of implied licence to conduct bail compliance checks on a person, in circumstances where that person is not subject to bail enforcement conditions.
