Director of Public Prosecutions v Carr [2002] NSWSC 194

Code: DOC6729Date: 14/6/2001Type: Judicial

This case concerns the arrest of an Aboriginal man for offensive language and then being charged with three further offences, including resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. This is often referred to as the 'trifecta' or 'quintella'. The NSW Supreme Court pushed back at this approach of using arrest as a first resort.
