Children's Guardian Act 2019 (NSW)

Code: DOC0981Date: 4/12/2019Type: Legislative

The main object of this Act is to protect children by providing for the role and functions of the office of the Children's Guardian, including promoting the quality of organisations and persons providing services to children and regulating those organisations and persons. The Office of the Children's Guardian was implemented in NSW following the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, to provide better oversight of the Child Safe Standards, the Working with Children Check and reportable conduct scheme (ie. to improve the monitoring of child abuse).
